U.S. propane exports hit record levels in early 2026

Exports averaged 2.0 million barrels per day in the first half of 2026, up 11.0% versus the same period in 2025, with April 2026 reaching 2.1 million b/d.

U.S. propane exports rose to record levels in the first half of 2026, according to data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

Exports increased to an average of 2.0 million barrels per day in the first six months of 2026, which was 11.0% higher than the same period in 2025.

The EIA said the gains were driven by increased U.S. propane production and changing trade flows, including exports to India and other countries in South Asia.

The agency also reported that propane exports reached a record of 2.1 million b/d in April 2026.
