WTI falls nearly 4% as Europe weighs emergency oil stock release

WTI traded at about $89.4 a barrel, while Brent slipped to roughly $99.8, after reports said European governments are discussing another coordinated release.

Oil prices fell sharply on Friday as Europe moved closer to another emergency release of crude stockpiles amid pressure from the Trump administration, OilPrice reported. WTI dropped nearly 4% and Brent fell below the $100 level.

At 6:54 a.m. ET, WTI was trading around $89.36, down 3.8%, while Brent was about $99.79 per barrel, down 2.5%.

The selloff followed reports that European governments are discussing another coordinated stock release, according to OilPrice.
