Corgi launches data center insurance program for builders and operators
The program includes builders risk and delay coverage during construction, plus property and business income coverage after a facility becomes operational.
Corgi has launched a data center insurance program that spans construction, operations, and computing hardware, covering builders risk and delay in start-up during construction as well as property and business income once a facility is operational, according to Coverager.
The coverage is designed to include key infrastructure such as power, cooling, and uninterruptible power supply systems. The company is also adding residual value protection for GPUs, intended to help support the hardware as a financeable asset.
The program targets colocation operators, GPU cloud and AI compute hosts, enterprise and edge data centers, and developers. Coverager reports Corgi has sold about $16.2 million of the offering, with the first sale occurring on July 9 and the full amount raised from 11 investors.
Corgi, which is based in San Francisco and was founded in 2024, also focuses on commercial insurance for startups and recently entered trucking insurance through a program with Trucker Path Insurance, according to the outlet.
