SEC clears listing rule hurdle for 3x Bitcoin and Ether futures ETFs
The SEC order approved Cboe BZX’s exchange-rule change for six VS Trust products, but registration effectiveness and a first trading date were not confirmed.
On Oct. 2, the SEC approved a Cboe BZX exchange listing proposal for VS Trust’s 3x Bitcoin ETF and 3x Ether ETF, clearing an exchange-rule hurdle for the products, CryptoSlate reports.
The approval covers six funds in total, including products tied to Bitcoin, Ether, gold, silver, crude oil, and natural gas, and it advances a proposal that was previously under review.
CryptoSlate notes that Cboe’s commodity-trust standards exclude funds that seek specified multiples of a benchmark, so each of the leverage-targeted products required individual SEC approval.
While the SEC order approved the exchange’s rule change, it did not confirm that the ETFs are registered and able to trade, and the initial and continuing listing requirements still apply, according to the article.
