Gallagher acquires Albany Insurance Services in New Zealand

Gallagher has acquired Albany Insurance Services Limited, a New Zealand-based retail insurance broker serving commercial and personal lines clients in Auckland and Canterbury regions, according to Coverager.

The acquisition terms were not disclosed. The team led by Jeremy Bleakley will operate under Carl O’Shea, head of Gallagher’s New Zealand retail brokerage operations, Coverager reported.

Coverager also notes that Apollo raised $11.4 million across three funding rounds from investors including Liberty Mutual, Trisura, and Definity, and that the platform is seeing multiyear opportunities in data centers, infrastructure, digital liability, and other risks that require specialized insurance structures and access to multiple markets.
