Hotstone Yoga closures leave nearly HK$8 million in reported losses
Hong Kong authorities said they received 694 reports tied to service contracts worth about HK$7.8 million, after the yoga chain stopped operating immediately.
Hong Kong authorities say losses tied to Hotstone Yoga’s abrupt closure have risen to nearly HK$8 million, based on customer reports filed in the city. South China Morning Post reports the Customs and Excise Department received 694 reports by 6pm on Sunday, involving service contracts valued at about HK$7.8 million.
The Consumer Council also reported receiving 416 complaints by 5pm the same day, with claimed losses totaling HK$5.42 million. Hotstone Yoga announced on Wednesday that it would cease operations immediately, citing business operations and other actual circumstances after careful consideration, according to the report.
