SEBI moves toward finalizing Closing Auction Session rules after 3,500 comments
SEBI’s consultation covers changes to CAS, trading hours, and the settlement price methodology for derivative contracts, with the feedback review expected soon.
India’s markets regulator SEBI said it is working to finalize proposed changes to the Closing Auction Session mechanism after receiving more than 3,500 public comments on its consultation paper, according to remarks by SEBI Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey shared by LiveMint Markets.
Pandey said SEBI is expected to examine the feedback shortly and proceed with the process, noting that the proposals outlined in the consultation paper were specific and clearly defined.
SEBI’s consultation sought input on adjustments related to the Closing Auction Session, market timings, and the methodology used to determine settlement prices for derivative contracts, with the consultation period ending on October 3.
The regulator had earlier proposed a review of the CAS framework and the methodology for calculating settlement prices for derivative contracts, the report said.
