The expansion is covered through Summit-managed carriers Bridgefield Casualty, Bridgefield Employers, and Bridgefield Indemnity, each rated A+ by AM Best.

Summit, a member of Great American Insurance Group, expanded its workers’ compensation offering into Maryland and Washington, D.C., after three Summit-managed carriers received regulatory approval to write business in the two markets.

The carriers are Bridgefield Casualty Insurance Company, Bridgefield Employers Insurance Company, and Bridgefield Indemnity Insurance Company, and each holds an A+ financial strength rating from AM Best.

Independent agents appointed with Summit can now submit quote requests for businesses in Maryland and Washington, D.C., and the company is seeking additional agent appointments in both markets.

The outlet also notes that ISC will take over MGA responsibilities for the two carriers during Q3.
