Adrian Cheng’s K11 Select in Xiamen draws 2 million visits

Since opening on September 22, Xiamen K11 Select has welcomed more than 2 million visits and reported week-on-week sales up 32%, according to a statement cited by SCMP Economy.

Adrian Cheng Chi-kong, a former heir apparent to Hong Kong’s New World Development (NWD), is expanding his K11 cultural retail business on the Chinese mainland with a new venture in Xiamen, SCMP Economy reported.

Xiamen K11 Select, developed by Cheng’s K11 by AC Group along with state-owned Xiamen Rail Transit Group, opened on September 22 and has attracted more than 2 million visits, the outlet said, citing a statement. The shopping and cultural complex also saw sales rise 32% week on week, SCMP Economy reported.

The project spans 95,000 square metres, or more than 1 million square feet, and includes around 200 brands, with about 80 making their national, provincial, or regional debuts, according to the report.

SCMP Economy added that Cheng described the site as a wetlands conservation-focused retail, art, and cultural tourism landmark, saying it has delivered strong operating results since opening for what K11 calls its cultural commerce model.
