African Risk Capacity names Jackline Muthengi chief underwriting officer
The promotion comes after Muthengi worked at the firm since 2021, including roles in product and pricing and later actuarial leadership.
African Risk Capacity Ltd., the financial affiliate and parametric insurance underwriting entity of the African Risk Capacity (ARC) Group, promoted Jackline Muthengi to chief underwriting officer (CUO).
Muthengi brings actuarial experience and a background spanning underwriting, reinsurance, pricing, product development, insurance regulation, and risk management, and she has been with African Risk Capacity Ltd. since 2021.
She previously joined the company as Product and Pricing Manager, serving in that role for two years before being promoted to Head of Actuarial in late 2023, where she oversaw technical underwriting strategy and reserving framework development.
Most recently, she was Head of Underwriting and Innovation at ARC Ltd., where she helped advance parametric insurance solutions for climate and disaster risks in emerging markets, according to Artemis.
