Strategy posts $21 billion Q3 digital asset gain and tops 848,000 BTC
The company also bought 334 BTC for about $28.7 million and repurchased $176.3 million of STRC preferred stock, leaving $547.2 million under its buyback program.
Strategy reported a $21.0 billion gain on digital assets for the third quarter of 2026, according to Decrypt, and said its Bitcoin holdings rose to a record 848,000 BTC.
The filing said Strategy bought 334 BTC between October 1 and 4 for an aggregate $28.7 million, at an average price of $85,838.80 per coin, and it reported no Bitcoin purchases in the final three days of September.
Strategy also disclosed it repurchased $176.3 million in STRC preferred stock in the period, including $102.6 million for 1,033,168 shares in the last days of September and $73.7 million for 740,634 shares in the first four days of October.
It said $154.1 million of the buybacks came from its USD cash balance, $22.2 million came from interest earned on cash and short term investments, and the preferred buyback program has $547.2 million remaining.
