Avenue Supermarts shares drop after Q2 FY27 revenue growth
The retailer posted standalone revenue of ₹19,206.18 crore for the quarter ended 30 September 2026, up 18.4% year-on-year, but the stock fell more than 5%.
Avenue Supermarts shares fell by more than 5% even after the operator of D-Mart reported stronger performance in its Q2 FY27 update, according to LiveMint Markets. The company said standalone revenue from operations for the quarter ended 30 September 2026 rose to ₹19,206.18 crore, up 18.4% year-on-year from ₹16,218.79 crore.
On a sequential basis, the company reported revenue increased 4.7% from ₹18,343.49 crore in Q1 FY27. The update also said Avenue Supermarts had 518 stores as of 30 September 2026.
The store count included an outlet in Sanpada, Navi Mumbai, which is currently closed to customers for reconstruction, LiveMint Markets noted. The article also referenced media reporting that CLSA maintained a 'High Conviction Outperform' rating with a price target of ₹5,723.
LiveMint Markets added that the brokerage pointed to consumer price index inflation of 4.9% based on July and August data, although analyst ratings were described as optimistic despite bearish market signals.
