Hiscox CEO Aki Hussain joins Insurance Development Forum steering committee
Hiscox said Hussain previously led the insurer as CFO for five years before becoming group CEO, and he has been involved in the forum’s working group focused on sovereign and humanitarian solutions.
Aki Hussain, Group Chief Executive Officer of global insurer Hiscox, has joined the Steering Committee of the Insurance Development Forum, a public-private partnership that brings together the insurance industry, the United Nations, and the World Bank to help protect vulnerable countries against climate disasters, Reinsurance News reported.
Hiscox said Hussain is a long-standing member organization of the IDF and that, under his leadership, the company has supported the forum’s goals by participating in the Sovereign & Humanitarian Solutions Working Group and contributing to broader IDF thought leadership and advocacy efforts.
The outlet also noted that Hussain served as Hiscox’s chief financial officer for five years before his close to five-year tenure as group CEO.
Before Hiscox, Hussain held finance roles including CFO positions at Prudential UK and Europe and earlier senior roles at Lloyds Banking Group and NTL, now Virgin Media, according to Reinsurance News.
