Bajaj Finance to raise up to ₹17,500 crore via QIP and warrants
The plan follows Bajaj Finance’s earlier stance that it would not raise equity soon, after it reported a 20.9% CRAR in the June quarter.
Bajaj Finance has announced a fresh equity capital raising plan, with the company set to raise ₹11,700 crore through a qualified institutional placement, and add a preferential allotment of warrants to its parent, Bajaj Finserv, worth ₹5,800 crore.
Taken together, the proposed equity funding totals ₹17,500 crore, according to LiveMint Markets.
The article notes that this comes after Bajaj Finance had reported a 20.9% capital to risk-weighted assets ratio during the June quarter (Q1FY27) earnings call, and that management had previously signaled an intention to monetize part of its nearly 87% stake in Bajaj Housing Finance before any further equity raise.
Despite management indicating no equity fund raise in the near future, the article says the stock is down about 4% in 2026 versus a 14% decline in the Nifty 50, and it warns that dilution could pressure return on equity and restrict earnings per share growth by about 3% if fundraising is done near current market prices in FY27.
