Dominic Collins to step down as Howden executive chairman

Howden said Collins will become president emeritus, while the broker ranked eighth globally with $4.84 billion in 2025 revenue.

Dominic Collins is stepping down as executive chairman of Howden after more than a decade in the role, leaving behind succession questions at one of the world’s largest insurance brokers, Insurance Business reports.

Howden said Collins joined the board as executive chairman when the company, then operating as Hyperion Insurance Group, completed its merger with specialty broker RK Harrison. Insurance Business also notes Collins previously spent more than 20 years at Jardine Lloyd Thompson before joining RKH as chairman in 2007.

As part of the transition, Collins will move to the role of president emeritus and remain involved in an advisory capacity, according to Insurance Business.

Howden is now ranked eighth among the world’s largest insurance brokers, with $4.84 billion in revenue in 2025 per AM Best’s 2026 global broker ranking, the outlet said. The group operates across more than 55 countries and employs over 23,000 people, about 6,000 of whom are employee-shareholders.
