Marsh Agency merges East and Northeast regions under new CEO
The combined East region now covers New York, New Jersey, New England, and the wider US Northeast, with around 1,400 staff.
Marsh Agency, the US middle-market brokerage unit of Marsh, has merged its East and Northeast regions into a single business unit, appointing Andrew Neary as chief executive effective immediately, according to Insurance Business.
The newly formed East region has around 1,400 staff and covers New York, New Jersey, New England, and the wider US Northeast. Neary, who led the former East region for five years, is based in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, and will oversee client service, sales, and operations.
Marsh said Neary has also been tasked with simplifying the operating model and combining talent and resources from the two legacy regions. Jerry Alderman, previously chief executive of the Northeast region, has left the company.
Marsh Agency president Matt Stadler said the merger aims to provide clients with a deeper bench of industry specialists and in-house capabilities while maintaining the client structures and relationships already in place. The outlet also notes Neary has a background in employee benefits.
