Oil prices dip after Strait of Hormuz crude flows exceed pre-war levels
Kpler data showed flows out of the Strait of Hormuz are now above pre-war levels, helping weigh on crude despite continued geopolitical tensions.
Crude oil prices fell in early trading as reported flows out of the Strait of Hormuz rose to above pre-war levels, according to Kpler data highlighted by OilPrice.
Brent stayed above $100, with Brent quoted around $101.5, while WTI was around $89.9 in early moves, the outlet said.
OilPrice also noted that Kpler had previously said tanker traffic via Hormuz was close to pre-war levels, even as attacks by the Houthis targeted Saudi energy infrastructure and Iran attacked tankers in the region.
