Shipping Corporation of India shares rise over 4% on Monday
The stock opened at ₹272, touched an intraday high of ₹287.5 on Oct. 5, as the Sensex and Nifty climbed.
Shipping Corporation of India shares jumped more than 4% on the NSE in Monday trading, following positive sentiment on Dalal Street, LiveMint Markets reported. The stock opened at ₹272, compared with a prior close of ₹267, and reached an intraday high of ₹287.5 on Oct. 5.
Indian benchmarks also rose, with the Sensex up more than 400 points. The Sensex opened at 72,340.95 and was trading around 72,362.54, up 452.84 points or 0.63%, while the Nifty opened at 22,532.40 and was around 22,543.05, up 121.10 points or 0.54%.
The move in the stock coincided with comments attributed to Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, as carried by PTI, about the company’s targets and expansion plans. He said Navratna PSU is targeting profit after tax of ₹2,000 crore for the current fiscal year and plans to expand its fleet by adding 30 vessels and 51 container vessels.
LiveMint Markets also noted that Shipping Corporation of India reported standalone PAT of ₹1,352.92 crore in FY26, and the company’s standalone operating result was referenced as part of the update.
