Southwire to expand Starkville, Mississippi factory with $256M project
The expansion will add about 380,000 square feet and is expected to create roughly 130 new jobs, with construction starting in late 2026.
Southwire plans to invest more than $256 million to expand its Starkville, Mississippi factory, a Georgia-based wire and cable manufacturer first acquired the site in 1989, according to ConnectCRE.
The project is expected to add roughly 380,000 square feet to the plant and generate about 130 new jobs.
Construction is expected to begin in late 2026, with full capacity targeted for 2028.
ConnectCRE said the expansion was announced as the first successful fee-in-lieu project in Oktibbeha County, where companies that invest at least $60 million can enter such agreements.
