Europe’s firms see cyber risk, AI disruption, and economic uncertainty
A Worldwide Broker Network and MarshBerry survey of 1,000 corporate buyers across the UK, France, and Germany found cyber risk and AI disruption are viewed as top pressures, but executives disagree on how quickly to embed insurance into board-level strategy.
Business leaders across Europe broadly agree on their biggest insurance risk concerns, but they differ sharply on how fast insurance should move into board-level strategy, according to a new report from Worldwide Broker Network, produced with MarshBerry, as covered by Reinsurance News.
The New Risk Reality Report surveyed 1,000 corporate insurance buyers across the UK, France, and Germany, and found cyber risk, AI disruption, and economic uncertainty are universally seen as top pressures.
While nearly half of executives said proactive risk management is vital for resilience, the report points to national divides in whether boardrooms treat commercial insurance as a strategic investment or an operational overhead.
The report also says the UK leads on strategy maturity, with 51% of executives viewing commercial insurance as a strategic investment, and it highlighted cyber-consciousness among UK buyers, including digital coverage gaps as a key operational headache, and 55% naming service quality as their top broker selection criterion.
