Paramount Skydance takes over Warner Bros Discovery in $110bn merger
The combined company will be renamed Skydance Corporation and will bring together major brands including HBO, CBS, Nickelodeon, Showtime, and DC Studios.
Paramount Skydance has officially taken over Warner Bros Discovery in a $110bn merger, a deal set to reshape Hollywood’s film and TV landscape, according to BBC Business.
The takeover follows months of legal disputes and criticism over concerns that consolidation could lead to cuts that harm competition and consumers, the outlet reported.
The newly merged entertainment group will combine major entities including HBO, CBS, Nickelodeon, Showtime, Comedy Central, DC Studios, and Food Network.
Ownership of franchises such as Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, The Lord of the Rings, and Mission: Impossible will move under the rebranded company, which will be named Skydance Corporation.
