US F-35 jets join India drills near Pakistan border for first time

Reported · Written up by our desk · Asia

US F-35 stealth fighters have taken part in joint military exercises with Indian warplanes near the Pakistan border in recent days, marking the first time the aircraft has joined drills on Indian territory, according to SCMP Economy.

SCMP Economy reports the participation of the US jets reflects what a Yale lecturer and former Indian Army officer described as a level of military confidence and interoperability that is hard to achieve through diplomatic communication alone.
