Anthropic adds Simplified and Traditional Chinese options to Claude

US AI firm Anthropic has added Simplified and Traditional Chinese language options to the web interface of its Claude chatbot in supported markets, according to checks by the South China Morning Post.
SCMP said Claude’s settings now let users choose Chinese as their preferred on-screen language, and that China briefly appeared as a billing country option before disappearing.
The outlet also reported that screenshots shared on X showed UnionPay, China’s bank card network, as a payment option at checkout, though SCMP was unable to independently confirm whether UnionPay payments were active.
