Baltimore group plans $100 million fund to tackle vacant housing
HousingWire reports the effort is part of a broader 15-year plan targeting 37,000 vacant or vulnerable properties, alongside $5 billion in private financing goals.
HousingWire reports the Greater Baltimore Committee is organizing lenders and investors with Enterprise Community Partners ahead of a planned $100 million private capital fund focused on redevelopment projects tied to vacant housing.
The outlet says the Greater Baltimore Committee plans to launch a Funders’ Consortium in November to connect funders with an already-vetted pipeline of projects.
HousingWire also notes the fund is part of a wider strategy in Baltimore, which previously outlined $1.2 billion in public commitments and aims to attract $5 billion in private financing over 15 years to address at least 37,000 vacant or vulnerable properties.
