Big I appoints Greg Sandrock chair for 2026-2027

Sandrock succeeds Angela Ripley and will be supported by a leadership slate that includes Bryan Clinkscales as chairman-elect and George Chip Atkins III as vice chair.

The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America, also known as Big I, has installed Greg Sandrock, a partner at The Cornerstone Agency in Tampico, Illinois, as its chair for 2026 to 2027. He succeeds Angela Ripley, owner and president of VW Brown Insurance Service in Columbia, Maryland.

Ripley will remain on Big I's executive committee for another year as immediate past chair. Bryan Clinkscales, owner of Boone Ritter Insurance in Springdale, Arkansas, was sworn in as chairman-elect.

Big I also named George Chip Atkins III, CEO of RH Clarkson Insurance Group in Louisville, Kentucky, as vice chair. The association said Sandrock has held leadership roles at both state and national levels, including serving as president of Big I Illinois and its national director before joining the executive committee in 2022.

Big I said Sandrock chaired the association's crop insurance task force and previously worked on InsurPac and related committees, citing his crop insurance background as a differentiator. It also noted crop cover is a core line for rural independent agencies, and that Big I lobbies on federal crop insurance policy through its crop insurance task force.
