Bitcoin slips below $81,000 amid hawkish Fed and rising oil
Bitcoin fell to as low as about $80,922 and is down nearly 3% over the past day, according to Bitcoin Magazine.
Bitcoin’s price continued to fall this week, dropping below $81,000 as investors weighed fears the Federal Reserve could raise interest rates, Bitcoin Magazine reported.
The outlet said bitcoin also moved lower alongside other assets as oil prices climbed after the Fed issued a hawkish statement.
In New York trading, bitcoin was recently around $81,203, after trading as low as nearly $80,922 earlier on Thursday.
Bitcoin Magazine added that the token has shed nearly 3% in the past day and is down 4% over the past seven days.
