Howard Hughes seeks approvals for larger Teravalis housing project

The 37,000-acre master planned community west of Phoenix is already entitled for 113,000 homes, and a new application could raise approvals to more than 130,000.

HousingWire reports that Howard Hughes is developing Teravalis, a 37,000-acre master planned community west of Phoenix, with the project entitled for up to 113,000 homes and about 60 million square feet of commercial space.

The outlet says a new application could lift the number of approved homes to above 130,000, supported by major upfront infrastructure work and water conservation measures intended to shape a multi-decade buildout.

HousingWire also notes that when fully built out, the development is positioned to become one of the largest master planned communities in the United States, with the potential to approach 400,000 residents.
