LMA and IUA form joint group for healthcare claims in London

The Joint Healthcare Claims Group will provide a shared platform for claims teams across Lloyd’s and London’s company market as healthcare insurance faces legislative, regulatory, and litigation shifts.

The Lloyd’s Market Association and the International Underwriting Association have established a Joint Healthcare Claims Group focused on healthcare-related insurance claims across London’s insurance market.

According to Reinsurance News, the group brings together claims professionals from the Lloyd’s and company markets, aiming to create a shared platform to discuss developments that affect healthcare insurance claims.

The LMA and IUA said the initiative will help practitioners exchange knowledge, consider emerging issues, and strengthen links between claims teams, with an emphasis on developing and sharing specialist expertise.

The associations cited ongoing impacts on healthcare insurance from changes in legislation and regulation, as well as shifts in claims patterns and litigation that have made the operating environment more complex for healthcare professionals and insurers.
