Interactive Brokers ForecastEx partners with Reask for live hurricane contracts

Reask will provide settlement data through its Metryc product for ForecastEx contracts tied to wind gusts at named coastal locations.

Interactive Brokers’ ForecastEx platform has partnered with Reask, a catastrophe modelling and climate analytics specialist, to provide settlement data for its live hurricane contracts, the firms said. The arrangement is intended to let capital providers enter and exit live catastrophe exposure in real time.

ForecastEx supports “yes” or “no” contracts based on stated outcomes for specific indicators, and it also hosts prediction markets. Interactive Brokers has previously said it expects those markets to be increasingly used for risk hedging and risk transfer.

The platform is listing live hurricane contracts tied to wind gusts produced by individual named storms at specific coastal locations. Reask said its Metryc product will serve as the settlement basis for these trades, and Reask’s LiveCyc forecasts will be published on the ForecastEx platform.

Reask also indicated that Tropical Storm Isaias, described as the first hurricane of the 2026 Atlantic season, may become the first strong storm the ForecastEx hurricane contracts trade through.
