Nonprofits are not protected from cyberattacks by their mission

Insurance Business TV reports that about 30% of nonprofits do not use multi-factor authentication for remote access, leaving them exposed even with cyber insurance.

Nonprofits may do good for society, but that does not protect them from cyberattacks, according to an Insurance Business TV segment featuring Joe Erle.

The segment says attackers target nonprofits as often as other organizations and points to data showing about 30% of companies in the nonprofit space do not have multi-factor authentication for remote access.

It also argues that brokers working with nonprofits and private companies should raise a cyber maturity discussion earlier, because relying on a claim process is painful and can leave organizations without a recovery plan.

Insurance Business TV adds that cyber coverage is not a substitute for cyber readiness, emphasizing the need to be prepared before an incident occurs.
