Researchers warn bitcoin and ether signatures could be broken sooner

CoinDesk reports that Ethereum researchers are warning crypto holders to prepare for potential AI driven attacks that could target signature protections used by bitcoin, ether, and tokens built on those systems.

The researchers say AI could potentially break these cryptographic signatures within months, not years, in the worst case, ahead of when quantum computers would be expected to arrive.
