Trump diesel deal with Putin raises concerns as Ukraine deaths reported

Ukrainian officials said Russian attacks in Zaporizhzhia killed at least 15 people, including three children, one day after Trump announced the diesel procurement agreement.

President Donald Trump announced a deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin to supply Russian diesel to U.S. and global markets, with CNBC World noting that options to lower diesel prices are limited given refinery destruction from wars in Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

The day after the announcement, SCMP Economy reported that Russian attacks killed at least 15 people in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region, according to Ukrainian officials.

SCMP Economy added that three children were among the victims after aerial bombs hit residential buildings, with Ukraine’s State Emergency Service citing the casualties in connection with the strikes.
