China’s finance minister to deliver keynote at Apec in Hong Kong
The Apec finance ministers’ meeting will run Oct. 20 to 21 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, with multiple major economies still finalizing their representatives.
China’s finance minister, Lan Foan, is set to deliver a keynote speech at next week’s Apec meeting in Hong Kong, according to the South China Morning Post.
SCMP says a draft agenda it obtained shows finance ministers from Apec’s 21 member economies will meet Oct. 20 and 21 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai.
The outlet added that presentations by three prominent financial institutions are expected to be among the highlights, while major economies are still finalizing their representatives.
So far, SCMP said expected attendees include Australia’s Treasurer Jim Chalmers, South Korea’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economy Lee Hyoung-il, and Singapore’s Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Finance Jeffrey Siow Chen Siang.
