D.R. Horton pilots Promise Robotics factory model for 1,250 homes
Promise Robotics says it can frame a typical 1,800-square-foot home in about eight hours as part of the pilot.
HousingWire reports that D.R. Horton will pilot Promise Robotics’ integrated robotic manufacturing to support construction of more than 1,250 homes.
The homebuilder says the factory-as-a-service structure is designed to let it test industrialized framing capacity and production predictability while limiting upfront factory ownership risk, under a multiyear agreement with Promise Robotics.
HousingWire adds that Promise Robotics positions the system as able to frame a typical 1,800-square-foot home in about eight hours, as D.R. Horton evaluates whether industrialized construction can improve speed, cost discipline, and capital efficiency.
