Flood Re plans to expand BeFloodReady into UK-wide flood resilience platform
Flood Re said it acquired the BeFloodReady brand, and the initiative was announced during Flood Action Week with support from Defra and Floods Minister Emma Hardy.
Flood Re, a joint initiative between the UK government and the insurance industry, has announced plans to expand BeFloodReady into a national platform focused on flood resilience.
According to Reinsurance News, the platform is intended to become a central online resource with reliable flood information, practical advice, expert support, and access to research and innovation to help households, communities, local authorities, charities, organisations, and businesses understand flood risks and prepare.
Flood Re said the initiative, announced during Flood Action Week, has support from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and Floods Minister Emma Hardy MP.
As part of the plans, Flood Re said it has acquired the BeFloodReady brand, which was originally developed through an Environment Agency Pathfinder project and later owned by Cornwall Council.
