Japanese tankers return to Gulf of Oman to load Middle East crude
The tankers are operating in the Gulf of Oman rather than entering the Persian Gulf through the Strait of Hormuz, according to OilPrice.
OilPrice reports that several Japanese oil tankers are returning to the Middle East to pick up crude cargoes for Japan’s refineries.
The outlet says none of the tankers are moving into the Persian Gulf through the Strait of Hormuz.
Instead, OilPrice adds that a rising number of Japan-owned or Japan-bound tankers, which had steered clear of the Middle East since the Iran war began, are turning to waters in the Gulf of Oman to participate in crude loading.
