WTW appoints commercial underwriting veteran Darrel Beaton in North America
Beaton, who joins effective October 5, previously spent 16 years at Effectus Insurance Managers as chief underwriting officer.
WTW has appointed Darrel Beaton as director of underwriting within its insurance consulting and technology (ICT) business in North America, effective October 5, Insurance Business reports.
Beaton joins from Effectus Insurance Managers, where he served as chief underwriting officer for 16 years, overseeing underwriting strategy, product development, and portfolio profitability across a broad range of commercial lines, according to his LinkedIn profile.
The outlet adds that Beaton brings more than 30 years of commercial underwriting experience, with career roles spanning program and specialty underwriting, including earlier positions at USAA and Advanced Insurance Management eSolutions.
WTW said the appointment supports its push to expand the ICT practice across commercial and specialty lines in North America, a segment it has been building alongside its personal lines advisory footprint, Insurance Business reports.
