HDI Global US appoints two chief underwriting officers in specialty push

The appointments align with HDI Global US strategy Xcelerate29 and expand focus areas including Architects & Engineers, Credit & Political Risk, and long tail casualty lines.

HDI Global US, a corporate and specialty lines insurer, has appointed Bevan Greibesland as chief underwriting officer for Specialty Lines and Bruce Griffin as chief underwriting officer for Long Tail Lines, as part of its Xcelerate29 strategy, according to Reinsurance News.

Greibesland, who has been with HDI since March 2025, will lead Specialty Lines underwriting in the US, including Architects & Engineers, Equine, and Delegated Authority, and she will further expand specialty capabilities such as Credit & Political Risk. The company also highlighted specialty products offered through its global network, including Aviation, Surety, and Mining.

Griffin joined HDI in August 2025 and has more than three decades of experience in commercial casualty insurance. As CUO of Long Tail Lines, he will focus on building a profitable and sustainable casualty portfolio across excess casualty, primary casualty, construction, environmental, life sciences, multinational business, and cyber.

The leadership changes follow recently announced management and organizational updates at HDI Global US, including the appointment of Shadi Albert as chief executive officer. HDI said the new CUO roles are intended to strengthen underwriting capabilities and help deliver specialized solutions to brokers and clients as the insurer grows its US business.
