Alibaba and Honor plan deeper AI-device partnership at WAIC
The companies will use the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai to showcase AI agent capabilities tied to an operating system for AI-powered devices.
Alibaba Group Holding and Shenzhen-based Honor are set to deepen their tie-up focused on an operating system for AI-powered devices, as competition in China’s early “AI phone” market heats up, according to SCMP Economy.
SCMP Economy reports that Honor, which was spun off from Huawei Technologies in 2020, will host a sub-forum at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai on Saturday titled “From digital screens to embodied intelligence.”
The outlet says the session is expected to include speakers from Alibaba’s Token Foundry unit, Qualcomm China, and other industry figures, and it will run alongside demonstrations of new agent capabilities developed by both companies.
SCMP Economy adds that Alibaba and Honor did not immediately respond to requests for comment, and it notes Alibaba’s ownership of the South China Morning Post.
