Brazil soybean production hits record 180.6 million tonnes for 2025-26
Ending soybean stocks for 2025-26 were forecast at 8.8 million tonnes as processing and exports were raised in July.
Brazil has completed its 2025-26 soybean harvest, with soybean production forecast at 180.6 million tonnes, according to the National Supply Company (Conab), a record that is 5% higher year over year.
Conab’s July 14 update to its 10th survey pointed to a 2.7% rise in cultivated area, a good technological package, and favorable weather conditions behind the expanded harvest. Ending soybean stocks were adjusted to 8.8 million tonnes, with grain processing and exports estimated in July at 62.57 million tonnes and 116.3 million tonnes, respectively.
Conab also forecast a broader grain rebound, projecting all-grain output in Brazil, including corn, wheat, rice and soybeans, to rise 2.1% to a record 360.1 million tonnes. The estimate implies a larger planted area of 83.5 million hectares, with national average productivity expected to remain stable at 4,311 kilos per hectare.
For corn, the total across the current cycle was estimated at 141.7 million tonnes, up 0.4%, and carryover stocks for Jan. 31, 2027 were adjusted to 14.5 million tonnes. Conab said the first corn crop is almost fully harvested at 29.6 million tonnes, the second crop is at a 39% harvest pace below the five-year average, and production of the third corn crop is forecast at 2.7 million tonnes, while rice output was projected at 11.1 million tonnes, 13% below the prior harvest due to a smaller cultivated area.
