Chinese GPU makers forecast double- to triple-digit growth on AI demand
Moore Threads said its flagship MTT S5000 is in mass production and that its computing efficiency matches top international alternatives.
Chinese chip designers Moore Threads Technology and Hygon Information Technology, which both market themselves as domestic alternatives to Nvidia, have projected double- to triple-digit revenue growth for the first half of the year, according to SCMP Economy.
The companies attributed the forecast to surging domestic demand for AI computing power, reflecting China’s push to expand homegrown AI infrastructure amid global competition for artificial intelligence leadership.
Moore Threads added that its flagship GPU, the MTT S5000, has entered mass production, and it said the chip’s computing efficiency is comparable to top international alternatives, while also claiming market-leading performance.
SCMP Economy reported that the projections highlight the strength of local appetite for GPU capacity as the AI race accelerates.
