Chinese RedNote AI model scores perfect 42 at International Math Olympiad
The dots-note-3.0 model solved all six IMO problems as the competition concluded in Shanghai on Monday.
An artificial intelligence model developed by Chinese social giant RedNote has achieved a perfect score at the International Mathematical Olympiad, which concluded in Shanghai on Monday, according to SCMP Economy.
The model, dots-note-3.0, solved all six puzzles to earn 42 points. The outlet said the “note variant” is still in beta and is the lightest model in RedNote’s dots3 family.
SCMP Economy also noted that RedNote’s dots3 family includes two larger versions, jazz and aria, built for different use cases and compute costs.
The outlet said the IMO is held annually and has been considered a high benchmark for AI because scoring requires proof with rigorous arguments, not just answer selection. It added that at last year’s IMO, Google DeepMind and OpenAI recorded gold-medal-level performances, each earning 35 out of 42 points.
