Bitcoin holds in a $64,000 to $66,800 range after July rebound

BTC has remained rangebound for a third straight session after a more than 13% move off the July 1 low, while broader markets offer little momentum.

Bitcoin is consolidating after its July rebound, holding between $64,000 and $66,800 for a third consecutive session, according to CoinDesk. The outlet said BTC failed to break convincingly above $66,000, suggesting the next directional move may require a fresh catalyst.

CoinDesk also pointed to subdued cues from traditional markets, noting Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 futures were down around 0.3%, the dollar index (DXY) was broadly flat, and gold and silver were pulling back after a safe-haven bounce. With those cross-asset signals mixed, crypto has lacked a clear macro tailwind or headwind.

In day-to-day trading, CoinDesk highlighted select standout movers, including WLFI which rose 12.18% to $0.063 and reclaimed a roughly $2 billion market cap, even as it remains far below its all-time high. Morpho gained about 4% to near $1.989, while Ethena added around 2% to about $0.092.

CoinDesk said profit-taking weighed on some recent gainers, with Lighter falling about 3% for a third straight session after a 200% rally from May into early July. At the time of writing, BTC was around $65,504, down roughly 0.6% since midnight UTC.
