Williams Cos. buys Williams Tower for more than $300M in Houston
The 64-story, 1.4M SF office building closed Monday, and the company said the tower is 83% leased.
Williams Tower, the office property at 2800 Post Oak Blvd. next to The Galleria in Houston, was acquired by its namesake tenant, Williams Cos., for more than $300M, according to Bisnow. The deal closed Monday, making it the largest single-property office sale in Houston since 2019, the outlet said, citing Green Street News.
Bisnow reported that Williams Tower LP, tied to Dallas-based Invesco Real Estate, sold the 64-story building. Invesco bought the property in 2013 for $412M, and the tower was appraised at close to $287M earlier this year, based on Harris Central Appraisal District records.
The acquisition supports Williams Cos.' stated goal of strengthening its presence in Houston, the Houston Business Journal quoted in the story. Bisnow said Williams does not plan to relocate its headquarters to the city at this time, but the company expects flexibility for growth and has set aside additional space for future expansion.
According to Bisnow, Williams said the tower is 83% leased and plans to add 100 employees to its workforce of more than 700 by the end of the year. The outlet also noted Houston office transactions reached $1.1B in the first half of 2026, up from $876M a year earlier, citing Avison Young.
