Adam Winslow begins CEO role at specialist insurer CFC
Winslow takes over from Louise O'Shea after CFC completed a leadership change confirmed earlier, with a planned CFO appointment from Direct Line due in September subject to regulatory approval.
Adam Winslow has officially started as group chief executive officer of CFC, taking over from Louise O'Shea about three weeks after the specialist insurer confirmed the appointment.
Winslow joins from Direct Line Group, where he served as group CEO and oversaw the insurer's £3.7 billion combination with Aviva. His previous roles include leading Aviva's UK and Ireland general insurance business.
At CFC, O'Shea stepped down after nearly six years in the top role and remains a significant shareholder. Andy Holmes, CFC's group capacity director and a 23-year veteran, had been acting CEO during the interim period.
CFC said Winslow's first day puts him in position for another leadership change later this year, with former Direct Line chief financial officer Jane Poole expected to join in September, subject to regulatory approval. Winslow said he is looking to build on CFC's foundations as the insurer scales its operations and advances its next phase of growth.
