Tokio Marine Highland creates chief growth officer role for M&A
The newly created role will cover corporate development and distribution strategy, including oversight of a new product pipeline.
Tokio Marine Highland (TMH) has appointed Matt LoPiccolo as chief growth officer in a newly created position, effective immediately, according to Insurance Business.
In the role, LoPiccolo will lead corporate development and M&A activity, handle distribution strategy and business development, and oversee new product pipeline development and corporate marketing. He will report to TMH CEO Steve Prymas and be based in New York City.
LoPiccolo joins TMH from Octave Partners, the acquisition arm of Octave Specialty Group. The article notes that Octave Specialty Group formerly operated as Ambac Financial Group until its 2025 rebrand into a specialty MGA platform, following Ambac’s sale of its legacy financial guarantee business.
Insurance Business reports that LoPiccolo previously worked with specialty insurance MGA startups and portfolio companies on growth strategy, acquisitions, business planning, and operational development. It also states that TMH’s CEO said the role reflects a deliberate investment in TMH’s expansion agenda, aiming to strengthen market presence and accelerate innovation.
