China UAV completes maiden flight with 24-hour nonstop endurance
The TP200 can cover up to 3,000 km at maximum payload and reach a service ceiling of about 7,600 meters, supporting roles from maritime patrols to emergency supply delivery.
China has completed the maiden flight of its first tonne-class, long-distance civilian drone, the Yitong UAV System TP200, designed for multiple non-military uses, according to coverage cited by SCMP Economy.
A Science and Technology Daily report says the fuel-powered TP200 can stay aloft for 24 hours at its maximum payload, with a stated range of 3,000 km. The drone is intended for tasks including maritime patrols, island supply, and land surveying, with potential uses for near-shore search and rescue.
The TP200 is also described as being suitable for coastline monitoring and delivering emergency supplies to remote mountains and islands. Its modular design is aimed at configurations for monitoring droughts, fighting forest and grassland fires, and mapping or surveying areas such as forests and ecology, including in any weather.
SCMP Economy further notes that, according to the company website, the TP200 has a service ceiling of about 7,600 meters and a maximum cruise speed of 200 km/h, with the ability to take off and land within 300 meters and operate from unpaved runways.
