David Abrahamson returns as chief risk officer at Equity Prime Mortgage
He will oversee risk management covering credit, underwriting, compliance, and investor-related functions at the wholesale lender.
Equity Prime Mortgage has appointed mortgage industry veteran David Abrahamson as its chief risk officer, HousingWire reports. The company says he will oversee risk management across credit, underwriting, regulatory compliance, and investor-related risk functions.
Abrahamson, a 40-year industry veteran, previously worked at Equity Prime Mortgage from 2010 to 2020. During that period, the lender said it expanded from a primarily retail, refinance-focused operation into a broader mortgage company with a growing branch model and a wholesale channel.
Equity Prime Mortgage now operates exclusively as a wholesale lender, and Abrahamson will be based at the company’s Atlanta headquarters. He will work with Equity Prime Mortgage’s executive, credit, operations, compliance, and underwriting teams.
In a statement, Abrahamson said Equity Prime Mortgage has long felt like his home base and that his return reflects relationships, vision, and an opportunity to make an impact. Equity Prime Mortgage founder and CEO Eddy G. Perez Jr. said the appointment strengthens the company’s leadership team and future growth plans, citing Abrahamson’s familiarity with the company and what strong risk management looks like in that organization.
