Google launches Gemini Spark AI agent in Hong Kong without VPN
The Spark agent, powered by Gemini 3.6 Flash, can summarize email threads and log customer feedback into charts, and it connects natively to Google Workspace tools.
Google has launched its Gemini Spark AI agent in Hong Kong, giving users direct access to a smart assistant designed to handle complex digital workflows. The rollout arrived months after the company said it would lift regional geofences for generative AI services starting with the Gemini chatbot, according to SCMP Economy.
Hong Kong users can access Gemini Spark without using a virtual private network or third-party platform. The agent was powered by the Gemini 3.6 Flash model and is positioned as part of a broader industry push toward agentic AI that can perform tasks on behalf of users.
SCMP Economy also said Spark can perform specific work functions, including summarising email threads and logging customer feedback into charts. Google is pitching the product’s integration with its own ecosystem, with native connections to Workspace tools such as Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Calendar.
Google said it aims to differentiate from open-source alternatives by offering what it describes as zero set-up integration across its platforms. It also said user data stays within Google’s secure cloud environment rather than being routed through unverified third-party plug-ins, and the service can operate continuously even when devices are locked or offline.
