Amkor plans $7B Peoria packaging campus opening in 2027

The planned 2.3 million-square-foot campus would add more than 750,000 square feet of cleanroom space and create about 3,000 jobs.

Amkor Technology is building a $7 billion packaging and testing facility in Peoria, Arizona, with an opening targeted for 2027, according to ConnectCRE.

The company broke ground last October and increased the project budget from $2 billion to $7 billion. ConnectCRE reports the Peoria site has backing tied to major customer commitments from Apple and Nvidia, plus a 10-year agreement with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.

Amkor’s manufacturing campus is planned in two phases, with more than 750,000 square feet of cleanroom space, and the project is expected to generate 3,000 new jobs.

ConnectCRE also notes Amkor recently bought 67 acres near its advanced packaging and test facility to support potential future expansion.
